The FAMU MicroGrant is a $500 grant awarded monthly to an eligible undergraduate (Dr. Sybil Mobley grant) and graduate student (Dr. Frederick S. Humphries grant) in good standing and currently enrolled in any of the schools and colleges at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

Applications are open the first week of every month.

Grants are awarded the last week of every month.

This is a privately funded alumnae sponsored grant and is not associated with Florida A&M University.

Requirements:

These grants are designed to bridge the gap in a student's income. While not large in amount, we hope that it will be large in impact. An extra $500 can mean the difference between having a necessary textbook, getting groceries for the month, or being able to afford a necessary trip home.

This is a no-strings attached gift. We won’t ask about your financial aid package to make any determinations about your eligibility. However, it certainly helps to be clear about your intended use of funds, and how this grant can make a difference in accomplishing your goal.

This is not a “need based” gift. Meaning, the primary purpose of this grant is not to fund “hard luck” stories. We recognize the fullness of the student experience, and we will fund a wide range of uses. It is best to be honest about your intended usage. We are primarily concerned with how this gift can make a difference in a student accomplishing a goal, and what that goal means to the student.

You must be a full-time degree seeking student currently enrolled at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Undergraduates: 12+ semester hours / Graduates: 9+ semester hours.

Minimum GPA: Undergrad 2.0 cumulative / Graduate 3.0 cumulative GPA
